Faithful Jesus-Loving Friends

Rick and I
August, 15, 2010
Out of all the people I have ever met in my life, the ones I feel closest to, the ones I know I can truly trust with all my heart, are the people who are frantically pursuing God as a passion, a need. I know these people are the ones that are gonna love me enough to push me to His arms for comfort when I'm hurting. It'll be those people who remind me who I belong to when I feel alone and lost. And it'll be those people who gently rebuke me and send me to my father's feet when I'm in need of His grace, love and forgiveness.

For the past week I have gotten the great privilege of spending almost every moment of my waking day with hundreds of teens pursuing God with the same passion I have for my Papa. I've learned through others to appreciate God's grace and love in some of the little things in life.

I was in a cabin of 15 girls and had a fantastic time bonding with all of God's princess. I also got to hang out with a great group of teens from Oak Harbor. (p.s. Don't try beating any Oak Harbor guys at log rolling, it doesn't work:) And over came fears of friendship.

God was really there and showed up in the most amazing ways.

Before I rap up for the night, the other person in the picture at the top of this post, his name is Rick. I spent almost all my meals with Rick sharing food, kid's camp stories, and enjoying the company of his faith. He's become a great friend and fellow fighter against the one who destroys. Meals are not nearly as fun without him and I now have no one to help encourage me to sort my fruit loops by color. Thanks for the great fun, Rick, and I can't wait to catch up with you again:) Lot's of love and respect.

Well, that it for now, guys! Time to go lead and direct the middle school kids for a week:)
Wish me luck!
